Chief Warrant Officer Jody Olson is from Three Forks Montana. After graduating from Three Forks High School, he enlisted in the Navy, attending Basic Training at Naval Recruit Training Center, San Diego, California, in August 1993. Chief Warrant Officer Olson received his commission through the Limited Duty Officer and Chief Warrant Officer program in March 2010. His operational assignments include service with the “Knight Riders” of Attack Squadron FIVE TWO (VA 52), where he deployed onboard the USS KITTY HAWK (CV 63); the “Kestrels” of Strike Fighter Squadron ONE THREE SEVEN (VFA 137), where he deployed onboard the USS CONSTELLATION (CV 64); the “Garudas” of Electronic Attack Squadron ONE THREE FOUR (VAQ 134), where he completed deployments to Prince Sultan Air Base Saudi Arabia (2), Incirlik Air Base Turkey, and Bagram Air Base Afghanistan (2); the “Scorpions” of Electronic Attack Squadron ONE THREE TWO (VAQ 132). He was forward deployed with the “Warlords” of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron FIVE ONE (HSM 51), where he served as the Detachment 11 Maintenance Officer over five deployments onboard the USS BLUE RIDGE (LCC 19); and was a Detachment Maintenance Officer, Quality Assurance Officer and Maintenance Material Control Officer with the “World Watchers” of Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron ONE (VQ 1). His final operational tour he served as the Maintenance Material Control Officer and Assistant Maintenance Officer of the “Golden Eagles” of Patrol Squadron NINE (VP 9), completing two SIXTH FLEET deployments winning the Battle “E” and coveted Golden Wrench. His shore assignments include service with the “Vikings” of Electronic Attack Squadron ONE TWO NINE (VAQ 129), the only Prowler and Growler Fleet Replacement Squadron for EA-6B and EA-18G aircraft; Fleet Readiness Center Northwest (FRCNW). Again forward deployed he served as the N4 Assistant Department Head, Readiness Officer and Battle Watch Captain for Commander, Task Force 72. In 2021, Chief Warrant Officer Olson transferred to Officer Training Command Newport where he is currently serving at the Limited Duty Officer/Warrant Officer/Chief Warrant Officer Academy in Newport RI.

His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (5), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (9), Combat Action Ribbon and various other unit and individual awards
